An innovative and rapidly expanding organization in the architecture, engineering, and professional services sector is seeking an accomplished Controller to help build a world class finance organization during an exciting period of strategic growth. This is a unique opportunity for a hands on finance leader who thrives in fast paced environments and enjoys creating scalable processes that support both organic expansion and acquisitions. Working closely with executive leadership, you will play a critical role in establishing financial infrastructure, strengthening internal controls, and providing the insights needed to support long term business success.


What You Will Do

  • Lead all accounting operations, financial reporting, and month end and year end close activities.
  • Design and implement scalable accounting processes, policies, and internal control frameworks that support continued organizational growth.
  • Partner with executive leadership to provide timely financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and strategic recommendations.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions through financial due diligence, integration planning, and post acquisition accounting activities.
  • Oversee external audits, tax coordination, regulatory compliance, and lender relationships.
  • Develop board quality financial reporting packages and ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize ERP and accounting systems, with Deltek Vantagepoint experience strongly preferred.
  • Build and mentor a high performing accounting team while establishing best practices across the finance function.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, including leveraging automation and artificial intelligence technologies to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to deliver meaningful financial insights that support operational and executive decision making.

 

Required Qualifications

  • CPA designation required.
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
  • Background with a Big 4 accounting firm or highly regarded regional public accounting firm.
  • Experience with an Academy Company environment, such as GE Audit Staff or similar leadership development programs.
  • Demonstrated success implementing ERP or enterprise accounting systems and building scalable accounting operations.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, audit management, internal controls, and compliance.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling, and acquisition integration.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
  • Experience leading organizational change and process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated interest in leveraging AI driven solutions to improve accounting and finance operations.

Preferred Experience

  • Deltek Vantagepoint implementation or administration experience.
  • Experience within architecture, engineering, consulting, construction, or other project based professional services organizations.
  • Experience supporting organizations experiencing rapid growth or acquisition activity.
