Focus:
- Own a portfolio of family law matters from initial filing through resolution, partnering closely with attorneys on strategy, deadlines, and next-step planning.
- Prepare and refine pleadings, declarations, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other case documents with a high level of accuracy.
- Coordinate exhibits, hearing materials, trial binders, calendars, and case milestones to keep matters moving and attorneys prepared.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, gather supporting documentation, and help ensure each case stays organized and on track.
- Assist with litigation support activities tied to hearings, settlement discussions, and trial preparation.
- Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced practice while maintaining attention to detail and strong follow through.
Skill Set:
- Hands-on family law experience is required.
- Ability to manage family law cases with a high degree of independence from start to finish.
- Strong drafting skills across pleadings, discovery, declarations, and related legal documentation.
- Solid understanding of core family law procedures, terminology, and litigation workflows.
- Strong research, writing, organization, and case management skills.
- Ability to handle a high-volume caseload while exercising sound judgment and professionalism.
- Paralegal certificate is not required, provided the selected individual otherwise meets applicable California standards for paralegal work.
