Thanks, Kyle. This is a new role so I can’t give him the exact example he is looking for. He will be the one setting the example. In the past we have structured both the sales workflow and compensation differently. This team will be the first to be compensated based on acquisitions. Having said that, all of our financial results are public through our SEC filings. For example, we acquired 443 homes in Q2 (which is the last quarter we published results for). https://s28.q4cdn.com/618391886/files/doc_financials/2025/q2/Offerpad-Q2-25-Earnings-Release.pdf. On average, we acquire roughly 120 homes per month and we are looking to increase that in the coming months. Currently, the team responsible for acquiring homes is less than 5. Even if we added 10 more people, the average across the team would be 8 homes closed. If he is not closing 8 homes per month in 2-3 months, we will most likely manage him out and replace him with a higher performer. Tell him to join, he’s going to love it and we think he can be great!
💬 1. Framing the Compensation Big Picture
“I want to walk you through how the pay is structured because on paper, the base can look low — but the earning potential is massive. The $35K base is really just the bridge income while you ramp up. The real money is in the commission, and that starts kicking in fast. Offerpad reps get $1,000 per home closed, and the average performer closes 6–8 deals a month. That’s how they’re earning between $120K–$180K+ a year. It’s performance-driven — not capped — and that’s what makes this role so rewarding.”
💸 2. Explaining the Ramp-Up Pay (so they don’t panic about the base)
“The first two months, Offerpad actually front-loads your pay — they guarantee $6,000 per month, regardless of closings. It’s called a ramp-up support package. They know you’re building pipeline those first weeks, so they invest in you early. That advance isn’t paid back all at once — it’s automatically and gradually offset by commissions starting in month three. So you’re always net positive. It’s basically them saying, ‘We’ll cover you until you’re in full stride.’”
⚡ 3. Handling Base Salary Pushback
“I totally understand where you’re coming from — that’s why I want you to look at the realistic earnings, not just the base. This team’s top performers are making $10K–$15K+ months, every single month, and the reason they can do that is because they’re closing volume. The $35K base keeps you stable, but the structure rewards closers massively. This is truly a closer’s environment — you control what you take home.”
🧭 4. Comparing to Traditional Sales Jobs
“It’s really different from a SaaS or corporate sales job where you grind for a year to maybe see 10% commission. Here, you see it every month — $1,000 per deal. You’re not waiting on a quota or fiscal cycle. You close, you earn. It’s straightforward, fast-paced, and the leads are provided — which is rare. That’s what makes Offerpad reps some of the highest earners in this type of model.”
🏁 5. Transitioning to Motivation & Fit
“This role rewards people who can move fast, follow up relentlessly, and close decisively. You’re not waiting for inbound leads to warm up — you are the closer. That’s why Offerpad looks for people with that sales DNA. If you bring that energy, this comp plan will pay you like a top producer. It’s not about surviving on $35K — it’s about out-earning your old base in a few months.”
🧱 6. If They’re Hesitant or Unsure
“I’d encourage you to take the interview — even just to hear from the team directly. They’ll break down the pay model in detail, and you’ll get to meet the leaders who built it. It’s one of those roles where once you hear how it actually works and what top performers are earning, it completely changes your perspective.”
