About the Role:

An industry innovator in specialized mechanical systems is seeking a CNC Precision Operator to join their state-of-the-art machining division. With a focus on delivering high-precision components for cutting-edge applications, this role offers the chance to work with some of the most skilled tradespeople in the region. This hands-on opportunity is perfect for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship and enjoys working with both manual and CNC machinery in a dynamic shop environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, set up, and maintain both manual and CNC machinery to fabricate parts to exacting standards.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical schematics to determine specifications, tooling, and sequence of operations.
  • Use precision measuring tools to inspect finished parts for defects and ensure conformance to tight tolerances.
  • Adjust machine settings, align fixtures, and select appropriate materials and tools for each job.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on shop equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Report production details and quality metrics using an internal ERP system.
  • Participate in ongoing improvement efforts, supporting lean manufacturing and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Sharpen, calibrate, and repair tooling as needed to sustain production quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in a hands-on machining role, or formal training through an apprenticeship or trade program.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and using a wide variety of measurement instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
  • Demonstrated experience with tool room equipment and high-precision machining techniques.
  • Must provide a personal toolkit including gauges and measurement devices commonly used in precision machining.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Repetitive motion involving wrists, hands, and fingers is common.
  • Will occasionally work in environments with moderate noise levels.
