Traffic Operations Foreman
Location: Murfreesboro, TN, On-site
Our client is seeking an experienced field leader to take ownership of crews delivering essential transportation infrastructure throughout the region. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who knows traffic signal and roadway electrical construction, enjoys working alongside skilled field teams, and wants to see the direct impact of their work in the community. The Traffic Operations Foreman will lead daily execution across signal, lighting, overhead, and intelligent transportation projects while helping crews work safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The underlying client position includes responsibility for bucket truck crews performing installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement work across these systems.

Focus
- Lead field crews performing traffic signal, roadway lighting, overhead structure, and intelligent transportation system work.
- Organize daily labor, equipment, tools, and materials to maintain productivity and support project schedules.
- Direct and participate in elevated installation, maintenance, and repair work involving signals, lighting, mast arms, span wire, overhead signage, and related electrical components.
- Interpret electrical plans, traffic signal drawings, construction specifications, and project schedules to guide field execution.
- Coordinate activities with underground teams, technical personnel, project leadership, utilities, inspectors, and other project partners.
- Train and mentor crew members while reinforcing safe equipment operation, quality workmanship, work zone controls, PPE, and fall protection requirements.
- Monitor field conditions, equipment readiness, and installation quality, addressing hazards, resource needs, and project issues as they arise.
- Maintain required field documentation and support project milestones, closeout activities, and hands-on crew work when needed.
Skill Set
- Bring at least five years of field experience building or maintaining traffic signals, roadway illumination, utility electrical systems, or comparable transportation infrastructure.
- Be comfortable running bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and similar field equipment, with practical familiarity across signal systems, roadway lighting, overhead signs, and ITS assets.
- Hold a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license, and be able to interpret electrical plans, signal drawings, and construction specifications.
- Previous foreman or crew leadership experience is preferred, especially in active roadway or electrical construction environments.
- A Class A CDL, OSHA 30 training, or traffic control supervisory credentials are valuable additions but are not required at hire.
