Cx Electrical Project Manager, Data Center
Location: On site in Lubbock, TX
A nationally recognized project delivery and construction management organization is expanding its team with an experienced Cx Electrical Project Manager to support large scale data center developments across the United States. What You Will Do
- Lead electrical commissioning activities throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring systems are tested, documented, and successfully transitioned into operation.
- Develop and maintain commissioning schedules that align with overall construction milestones and project objectives.
- Coordinate commissioning efforts with contractors, engineering consultants, equipment manufacturers, testing partners, and facility stakeholders.
- Evaluate project drawings, engineering documentation, and technical specifications to determine startup requirements and uncover potential execution challenges.
- Oversee functional testing of mission critical electrical systems including backup power, switchgear, UPS systems, transfer equipment, distribution infrastructure, and associated controls.
- Monitor testing activities, verify installation quality, and ensure deficiencies are documented, communicated, and resolved before project completion.
- Facilitate commissioning meetings while providing consistent progress updates to project leadership and clients.
- Assist with equipment validation, on-site performance evaluations, integrated system testing, and final startup preparation.
- Prepare and manage detailed project documentation, including validation records, testing results, deficiency tracking, and closeout deliverables.
- Promote a strong culture of safety while ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, site procedures, and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and construction teams to successfully execute integrated commissioning activities and critical project milestones.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
- Seven or more years of experience supporting electrical construction, commissioning, mission critical facilities, or related infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing commissioning activities for complex electrical systems in data centers or other highly reliable facilities such as healthcare, manufacturing, semiconductor, utility, or industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of critical power infrastructure, electrical distribution systems, backup generation, UPS equipment, transfer systems, and electrical protection concepts.
- Knowledge of industry standards and electrical codes applicable to commissioning and energized testing activities.
- Experience leading project meetings, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and delivering technical documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast paced construction environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem solving abilities.
- Experience using construction management and project documentation software along with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work on active construction sites and travel as required to support project execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Accredited credential related to commissioning, system performance verification, or facility validation.
- Professional Engineer license or equivalent technical credential.
- Background working with client-side project teams, independent quality assurance consultants, or construction oversight firms..
- Knowledge of end-to-end system validation, building activation, and readiness planning within high-availability facilities.
- Experience supporting hyperscale or colocation data center projects is highly desirable
