Fire Systems Field Inspector

On-site in Fort Walton Beach, FL

Our client is seeking a skilled Fire Systems Field Inspector to support the reliability and compliance of critical life safety systems across Northwest Florida. This position offers a mix of independent fieldwork, customer interaction, and responsibility for helping maintain dependable fire protection systems. This role offers hands-on technical exposure and opportunities to broaden your experience within an established team environment.

Focus:

• Perform routine field evaluations to verify the condition and operation of essential fire and life safety equipment.
• Evaluate system conditions, identify deficiencies, and communicate findings to customers and internal service teams.
• Complete field activities and related records in accordance with relevant industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Manage assigned field visits independently while maintaining timely, accurate, and organized inspection work.
• Prepare detailed records of testing activities, system conditions, deficiencies, and recommended follow-up.
• Safely use ladders, lifts, tools, and other equipment required to access and evaluate system components.
• Interact professionally with various individuals and teams while completing assigned work in the field.

Skill Set:

• NICET certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems, as required for Florida sprinkler inspection work.
• FASA/BASA certification for fire alarm inspection work, including completion of the required 16-hour course and certificate.
• Familiarity with water-based fire protection systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pump configurations.
• Experience evaluating commercial fire alarm equipment and identifying system or code-related deficiencies.
• Completion of secondary education or a comparable credential.
• Ability to maintain the driving credentials required for field-based responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently while providing professional communication and strong customer service.
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
