Operations Engineer – Professional Engineering Certified

Location: Hybrid – Dallas-Fort Worth, TX Area

Work Model: Hybrid schedule, with a minimum of three days onsite weekly

Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.


A premier data infrastructure solutions provider seeks a Professional Engineer-certified Operations Engineer to lead efforts enhancing the performance, resilience, and capacity of their vital infrastructure. This role offers a chance to work within one of the most technically demanding environments in modern infrastructure and have a direct impact on operational excellence, emergency response, and the advancement of multi-million-dollar capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive resolution of on-site mechanical and electrical problems, maintaining high availability of core infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and improve mission-critical systems performance.
  • Oversee and validate technical protocols, including MOPs, FIGs, ERGs, and change requests, to ensure operational integrity.
  • Provide technical direction to vendors and internal staff to support ongoing operational and capital project efforts.
  • Support capital project execution alongside construction and engineering teams, including retrofit initiatives and new builds.
  • Maintain optimal performance of key facility systems.
  • Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities to manage emergency issues and ensure rapid resolution.
  • Support energy efficiency goals and monitor PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) for anomalies.
  •  Assist in developing annual operational budgets and strategic maintenance planning.


Required Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid PE license.
  • BS in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in mission-critical environments (e.g., data centers, industrial facilities) covering design, commissioning, and/or operational oversight.
  • Familiar with major facility systems and equipment.
  • Skilled at communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • High-level organization and time-management skills, with an ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience reviewing or developing operational documentation and procedures.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting complex systems.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Previous involvement in greenfield and retrofit construction projects for critical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with BMS and controls systems.
  • Solid understanding of design and operations for distributed redundant and 2N systems.
