Our client is seeking an accomplished construction safety leader to strengthen safety performance across a high-profile portfolio of roadway, transportation, and electrical infrastructure projects throughout New York City. This is a highly visible, field-driven leadership opportunity for someone who knows how to protect crews working in active traffic while keeping demanding public infrastructure projects moving forward. - An established organization that values professional development, collaboration, and long-term career growth.
- Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, retirement benefits, paid time off, holidays, and tuition support.
Focus
- Lead safety efforts across roadway, transportation, and outdoor infrastructure construction, maintaining a strong field presence to identify hazards, coach teams, and reinforce safe work practices.
- Assess Temporary Traffic Control plans, lane closures, staging strategies, and changing work zone conditions to help safeguard employees, motorists, and the public.
- Translate OSHA, MUTCD, transportation agency, and project requirements into practical field procedures while monitoring compliance with traffic control, flagging, visibility, and personal protective equipment standards.
- Conduct jobsite inspections and risk reviews, document findings, and partner with operations teams to implement timely corrective actions.
- Strengthen pre-task planning, hazard assessments, toolbox discussions, and project-specific safety documentation for active roadway construction activities.
- Lead investigations involving incidents, injuries, near misses, and property events, identify contributing factors, and drive corrective measures that reduce future exposure.
- Partner with project managers, superintendents, field personnel, public agencies, and project stakeholders to integrate safety into construction planning, scheduling, execution, and compliance activities.
- Deliver targeted safety training, evaluate performance trends, and support continuous improvement and emergency planning for roadway, electrical, after-hours, severe weather, and restoration operations.
Skill Set
- 7 to 10 years of construction safety management experience, including at least 3 to 5 years focused on roadway, highway, or outdoor electrical construction in active traffic environments.
- Demonstrated expertise with MUTCD standards, Temporary Traffic Control plan development, work zone safety regulations, and roadway hazard mitigation.
