Key Projects You’ll Own
- Real-time Sellable-Stock Engine – automate today’s manual spreadsheets so sales can quote inventory with confidence.
- Production & Materials Forecasting – build lightweight predictive models that align capacity, demand, and purchasing windows.
- Purchasing Optimization – surface buy-now vs. wait recommendations that balance lead-times, costs, and contract dates.
- Self-Service Dashboards – deliver intuitive Power BI/Excel/SQL visualizations that operations and finance teams can refresh on their own.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Translate diverse business questions into experiments, proofs-of-concept, and AI-assisted solutions.
- Develop Python or low-code scripts that pull from SQL, ERP/MRP, and Excel sources to automate analysis workflows.
- Build, iterate, and document dashboards or reports; present insights to stakeholders in clear, non-technical language.
- Evaluate model and LLM output for accuracy, reliability, and hallucination risk; recommend guardrails where needed.
- Champion data quality: flag anomalies, close gaps, and streamline collection processes across departments.
- Stay current on practical AI/ML advances that can be safely adopted inside a mid-sized manufacturing environment.
Ideal Background
- Bachelor’s degree in data/Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, or similar field -or- equivalent hands-on experience.
- Proficiency with Python (or R/Julia), SQL querying, and advanced Excel; experience wiring APIs or basic software architecture is a plus.
- Experience working with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or comparable tools, along with strong knowledge of forecasting methods and statistical analysis principles.
- ·Proven ability to turn ambiguous business problems into data models and actionable recommendations.
- Comfort working onsite in a small, highly collaborative team; excellent communication and curiosity are must-haves.
- Bonus points for prior exposure to manufacturing, supply-chain analytics, or aerospace/fastener industries.
