A growing industry leader in next-generation network infrastructure is expanding their cabinet solutions division and seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support AC and DC power system design. This role involves spearheading the design and development of cutting-edge, ruggedized enclosures equipped with built-in power solutions for telecommunications, broadband, and utility infrastructure projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a hands-on design role with a company delivering real impact in North America’s digital infrastructure transformation. The ideal candidate is a power-savvy engineer with experience designing AC utility and -48VDC systems, who thrives in a collaborative environment bridging innovation and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape the future of outdoor power systems, blending energy solutions with enclosure design
  • Develop power configurations from utility service entrance through distribution panels and ATS, ensuring code compliance and system resiliency.
  • Produce detailed documentation, including single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, load calculations, BOMs, and layout drawings.
  • Define and vet power system components to ensure they meet customer specs and regulatory requirements
  • Lead power system certification efforts for UL, CE, CSA, NOM, and similar regulatory approvals.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in product design, marketing, and applications engineering.
  • Perform thermal validation testing and support cabinet-level environmental design considerations.
  • Offer technical expertise and assistance throughout installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases.
  • Maintain documentation libraries and update engineering records and as-built drawings.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design standards and component evaluations for future product scalability.

Requirements:

  • Degree in EE or 5+ years of relevant experience in power or telecom design engineering
  • Expertise with -48VDC power systems and AC infrastructure for telecom, fiber, or broadband applications.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar platforms for electrical drafting and modeling.
  • Well-versed in NEC, IEEE, and Telcordia standards (GR-1089, GR-63, GR-487)
  • Strong understanding of grounding, bonding, surge protection, and redundancy strategies.
  •  Familiar with major equipment vendors such as ABB, Eltek, Delta, or Eaton.
  • Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills, with strong communication abilities.
  • Capable of lifting 40 lbs and available for up to 25% travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT certification or PE license.
  • Experience supporting designs for 5G infrastructure, DAS, small cells, or micro data centers.
  • Familiarity with remote power monitoring, SNMP, and BMS systems.
