AI Infra Network Automation Engineer
Location: Hybrid – San Francisco, CA
Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

A pioneering, high-growth provider of AI datacenter infrastructure is scaling its next-generation platform and needs an Automation Engineer who can translate network design into fully repeatable, code-driven deployments. In this hybrid position, you will define the authoritative data architecture, develop the workflows that convert design intent into deployable configurations, and confirm that every switch, router, and cable leaving the facility is fully prepared for operational use. If the idea of bringing thousands of ports online with a single command excites you—and you want your work to support some of the world’s most sophisticated AI infrastructure—this opportunity is for you.
This Role Offers
- Competitive base salary plus meaningful equity and performance bonus
- Hybrid schedule with on-site collaboration days in downtown San Francisco
- Green-field ownership of automation architecture for hyperscale AI networks
- Direct line of sight to senior leadership and the freedom to influence tools, process, and roadmap
- Top-tier benefits: 100 % employer-paid medical, generous PTO, 401(k) with match, and professional-development budget
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and enhance the DCIM/IPAM data architecture to act as the primary reference point guiding all provisioning and operational workflows.
- Generate deploy-ready artifacts—rack elevations, port maps, cabling sheets—directly from the intent captured in that model
- Create automated workflows that turn structured inputs into standardized, deployment-ready results.
- Develop automated validation and health-check tools that verify systems from initial setup through final deployment.
- Enable automated provisioning that carries systems from initial startup through ongoing lifecycle management.
- Partner with internal teams to maintain consistency between system data and operational environments.
- Continuously identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, eliminate risk, and improve repeatability
Required Background
- Min 5 plus yrs of experience working within large-scale network or infrastructure environments, including exposure to automation development.

- Expertise with configuration-management and templating frameworks (Jinja2, Ansible, or similar) plus IaC tooling such as Terraform
- Familiarity with contemporary networking platforms and infrastructure technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a passion for thorough documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience auto-generating build artifacts from network models
- Exposure to automated provisioning methods, lab simulation tools, and testing frameworks used in modern infrastructure environments.
- Solid grasp of BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, and leaf/spine fabric design principles
- Familiarity with high-performance computing environments or other large-scale, data-intensive infrastructure workloads.
- Ability to connect monitoring and observability tools with automated operational workflows.
