Electrical/Hardware Component Engineer

Phoenix, AZ, On Site

Our client is expanding a sophisticated hardware portfolio and is seeking a Electrical/Hardware Component Engineer to help drive smarter part strategy across both existing and future products. This is a high impact opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to engineering decisions, supplier conversations, and new product activity. In this role, you will help shape component direction early, strengthen supply resilience, and support product longevity across multiple programs rather than being confined to a single platform.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with electrical and hardware engineering teams during development to help identify component options that align with technical goals, manufacturability, and long-term support.
  • Engage with sourcing partners and suppliers to stay ahead of market availability, roadmap changes, and alternate part opportunities.
  • Support prototype and early build readiness by helping align technical component needs with supply timing and execution.
  • Track component lifecycle health, including obsolescence trends, product changes, and continuity concerns, then help drive practical response plans.
  • Maintain clean and accurate part records, supporting documentation, and alternate component data within internal business systems.
  • Contribute to cost and risk improvement efforts by helping standardize parts, reduce exposure, and improve scalability across hardware programs.
  • Act as a trusted technical liaison among engineering, operations, quality, and external partners to keep decisions aligned and moving forward.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in component engineering, parts engineering, sustaining engineering, or another electronics centered role.
  • Ability to review schematics, interpret datasheets, and communicate technical tradeoffs with both engineers and suppliers.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction, engineering changes, or product lifecycle activity in a complex hardware environment.
  • Familiarity with PLM, ERP, or component intelligence tools used to manage part records and lifecycle risk.
  • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills in a fast-moving setting.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to PCBA based products and electronic component selection.
  • Familiarity with formal engineering change processes and controlled product documentation.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers or global supplier networks.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle monitoring, compliance support, or part risk analysis tools.
  • Success in roles that required both technical depth and cross functional influence.

Why Candidates Will Care

  • Broad visibility across multiple products and future development efforts.
  • Opportunity to influence component decisions early, where they matter most.
  • Competitive total compensation potential, bonus opportunity, equity, relocation support, and a robust benefits package.
