Specification Sales - Lighting
Location: Remote, Nationwide (Ideal candidate based in Southeast or Southcentral U.S.)
A premier, growth-focused company in the lighting and building technologies space is seeking a driven Specification Sales professional to join their dynamic team. This is a high-impact, business development role focused on driving demand for cutting-edge lighting solutions across the commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and civic markets. The ideal candidate is a relationship builder and strategic thinker with strong technical acumen and a passion for delivering lighting excellence through innovative solutions.
This is a fully remote role with extensive client-facing interaction. The best candidates will be based in the Southeast or Southcentral U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate new and existing relationships with architects, engineers, lighting designers, and other specifying influencers to drive project-based demand.
- Deliver compelling product presentations, both virtually and in person, that address client needs and highlight innovative lighting technologies.
- Surpass sales targets through high-volume client engagement, including daily outreach and regular product presentations
- Develop and manage a pipeline of specification projects from conception through to quote and order.
- Serve as a subject matter expert by staying ahead of product trends, technology innovations, and application best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to develop tailored lighting solutions and ensure customer satisfaction through each phase of the project lifecycle.
- Manage all aspects of the sales process including quotes, design support, and order execution.
- Contribute to a culture of teamwork, knowledge sharing, and customer-first service.
Skills & Experience Required:
- 3+ years of experience in lighting specification sales or related roles within the lighting or electrical industry.
- Strong network and proven success working with architectural and engineering firms on project-based sales.
- Bachelor’s degree or LC certification preferred.
- Familiarity with lighting design tools and platforms including AutoCAD, Revit, and AGi32.
- Skilled in professional presentation delivery, project management, and sales strategy execution.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and CRM software
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for meetings.
