Our client is expanding its U.S. engineering footprint and is seeking a Robotics Applications Engineer, Vision Systems to support advanced automation initiatives in a highly visible, hands-on role. Focus
- Work with customer and internal teams to understand application requirements, operating constraints, and automation goals
- Support technical evaluations, feasibility reviews, and proof-of-concept activities tied to new opportunities
- Contribute to machine concepts, fixture ideas, and mechanical layouts using CAD tools
- Build, assemble, wire, test, and troubleshoot electromechanical and automation systems in lab and field settings
- Assist with integration efforts involving mechanical components, electrical hardware, sensors, and pneumatic devices
- Support implementation, startup, commissioning, and issue resolution during customer deployments
- Create clear technical documentation such as build notes, test observations, layouts, and support records
- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional engineering partners, vendors, and customer stakeholders
- Act as a customer-facing technical resource during both pre-deployment validation and post-installation support
Skill Set
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering is required
- U.S. work authorization is required
- Ability to travel at least 25 percent throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico
- Hands-on experience with machine design, mechanical assembly, electrical troubleshooting, wiring, automation systems, pneumatics, and CAD
- Customer-facing engineering experience supporting requirements gathering, technical validation, deployments, and troubleshooting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical details into practical solutions for customers and internal teams
Preferred Background
- Experience in robotics, industrial automation, machine vision, or systems integration
- Hands-on involvement with equipment commissioning, system startups, and field implementation activities.
- Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, conveyors, grippers, or similar industrial equipment
- Experience supporting manufacturing, warehousing, inspection, or automation-driven operations
- Comfort operating in fast-moving technical environments with changing project needs
