Regional Operations Executive - HVAC Services

Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR

Our client is an established commercial HVAC and mechanical contracting organization seeking a hands-on operations executive to lead and expand a regional business. This leader will have broad responsibility for financial performance, service operations, mechanical projects, field execution, customer relationships, and team development. The opportunity is especially compelling for an experienced commercial HVAC or mechanical contracting professional who wants meaningful authority to shape the business rather than operate within a highly prescribed corporate structure.

This Role Offers

  • Substantial ownership of a commercial HVAC and mechanical operation with direct influence over strategy, people, customers, and financial results.
  • A healthy existing business with an experienced team and meaningful opportunity for additional growth.
  • The ability to determine how service, maintenance, retrofit, and project capabilities should evolve based on market opportunity.
  • The resources of a larger organization combined with the accessibility and decision-making speed of a locally led operation.
  • A highly visible leadership position with the potential to take on broader responsibilities as the organization expands.
  • Competitive compensation with performance-based incentive potential, vehicle support, health benefits, retirement benefits, paid time off, and additional company-sponsored programs.

Focus

  • Direct commercial HVAC and mechanical operations across service, maintenance, retrofit, and project delivery activities.
  • Own financial performance through effective forecasting, budgeting, job-cost awareness, pricing discipline, and margin management.
  • Assess market demand and build a growth plan around the most attractive commercial service and mechanical contracting opportunities.
  • Improve coordination among service leadership, project management, technicians, field crews, and administrative teams.
  • Monitor labor utilization, project performance, scheduling, backlog, and operating results to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop managers and field leaders who can take greater ownership as the organization expands.
  • Participate in strategic customer relationships and help identify opportunities to expand recurring service and project revenue.
  • Establish a strong leadership example around jobsite safety, workmanship, accountability, and customer service.

Skill Set

  • Leadership experience within commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, refrigeration, electrical contracting, or a comparable specialty contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of the operating economics behind commercial service and project-based contracting businesses.
  • Experience managing P&L performance, operating budgets, project portfolios, branch results, or another meaningful level of financial responsibility.
  • Familiarity with commercial HVAC service, preventive maintenance, retrofit programs, and mechanical project delivery.
  • Experience leading technicians, project managers, field supervisors, service leaders, or comparable skilled-trades teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve business performance through stronger execution, margin management, customer growth, or operational improvements.
  • A collaborative and accessible leadership style with the ability to build trust across field, office, customer, and executive audiences.
  • Comfort working close to the business and moving between strategic planning, financial decisions, employee development, and day-to-day operational challenges.
