Senior Steam Turbine Support Engineer
Location: Remote - Nationwide
Our client is looking for a seasoned steam turbine expert who can step into a high visibility role supporting complex customer needs across the power generation market. Focus
- Serve as the senior technical resource for steam turbine parts inquiries, application guidance, and aftermarket issue resolution
- Evaluate drawings, material data, and field inputs to recommend fit for purpose repair, replacement, or sourcing paths
- Partner with sales, sourcing, quality, and customer stakeholders to turn complex turbine requirements into executable commercial solutions
- Support supplier qualification and technical review activities for critical rotating equipment components and assemblies
- Guide technical evaluation of aftermarket steam turbine components, documentation packages, and supplier alternatives for customer programs
- Contribute to root cause reviews and performance assessments tied to reliability, operability, and lifecycle extension objectives
- Help shape quoting strategy by clarifying specifications, commercial risk points, and technical exceptions before order release
- Participate in occasional customer or site interactions to support inspections, issue resolution, and relationship development
Skill Set
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred
- Deep experience supporting steam turbine systems in an engineering, aftermarket, service, or reliability environment
- Strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings, bills of material, specifications, and component level technical data
- Working knowledge of rotating equipment failure modes, inspection practices, and quality requirements
- Comfort operating in a customer facing role that blends technical judgment with commercial awareness
- Background collaborating across procurement, supplier, quality, and engineering functions
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross functional decisions
- Ability to work effectively in a remote nationwide role with periodic travel based on customer and project needs
Preferred Background
- Experience supporting legacy or OEM based turbine fleets in utility, industrial, or related power environments
- Exposure to repairs, upgrades, field support, outage planning, or component sourcing for steam turbine systems
- Familiarity with lifecycle extension strategies, technical troubleshooting, and performance improvement efforts
