Job Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk

Location: Allentown, PA (on-site, standard daylight schedule with limited flexibility)

About the Company

Join a well-established North-American manufacturer whose engineered building-products can be found everywhere from big-box retailers to major infrastructure projects. The finance team is growing, and we are searching for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) professional who will keep cash flowing, strengthen customer relationships, and support cross-functional initiatives. You will work alongside a close-knit group that values accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record daily ACH, wire, and check receipts in the ERP and clear customer balances for three affiliated business units.
  • Reconcile short-pays and payment discrepancies; contact customers to resolve issues and maintain current aging.
  • Investigate chargebacks and deductions, obtain proof of delivery, and file disputes through customer web portals.
  • Compile trade references and prepare credit-application packets for new accounts or limit reviews.
  • Generate weekly cash-in and collections reports for finance leadership; highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with logistics and warehouse teams to validate returns and issue timely credits.
  • Assist with month-end tasks including rebate, co-op, and commission accruals.
  • Provide back-up support for vendor invoice processing, payment runs, and statement reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or similar accounting support role.
  • Associate degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience).
  • Hands-on ERP knowledge (SAP familiarity a plus) and comfort working in customer payment portals.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups) and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to manage a high volume of email traffic professionally.
  • Experience with EDI transactions or sales-tax concepts is advantageous.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and 401(k).
  • Stable manufacturer with decades of success and a pipeline of new products.
  • Clear growth path: cross-training in AP and credit management plus exposure to continuous-improvement projects.
  • Collaborative culture that values new ideas and rewards accuracy, integrity, and initiative.
