Regional Sales Manager

Hybrid, Orlando, FL

Our client, a growing industrial distribution organization serving complex manufacturing environments, is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to lead commercial growth across a multi-state Southeast territory. This is an opportunity for an accomplished industrial sales professional to step into meaningful leadership, develop an emerging field sales team, work directly with major manufacturing customers, and help capture significant untapped market opportunity. The position offers strong visibility with senior leadership and a compelling advancement path, particularly for someone who brings deep industry credibility and is ready to expand their leadership impact.

This Role Offers:

  • Competitive base salary, plus annual performance bonus and additional regional sales incentive opportunity.
  • Hybrid flexibility, combining a home-based work environment with customer visits, field leadership, and regional travel.
  • Strong career runway within a growing organization, with the opportunity to develop toward broader sales leadership responsibilities.
  • A business environment where industrial expertise and leadership potential are valued, rather than requiring candidates to already have extensive management tenure.

Focus:

  • Coach and develop a field sales team, setting clear expectations while helping newer representatives build confidence and commercial judgment.
  • Guide regional account strategy, pipeline discipline, forecasting, and territory planning to support sustainable revenue and margin growth.
  • Join customer meetings and negotiations when added leadership or industry expertise can help advance an opportunity or strengthen a relationship.
  • Build executive-level credibility with manufacturing customers and lead structured annual or biannual business reviews.
  • Maintain hands-on ownership of select high-value accounts while helping the team identify expansion opportunities across existing and prospective customers.
  • Use market, customer, and competitive insight to identify whitespace opportunities and shape regional sales priorities.
  • Partner with operations, marketing, product, and other internal groups to support customer implementations, service needs, and continuous improvement.
  • Track sales activity and customer engagement in CRM tools, and communicate forecasts, trends, risks, and results to senior leadership.
  • Travel throughout a seven-state Southeast territory, with a practical expectation of roughly 6 to 8 hotel nights per month.

Skill Set:

  • Bring credible knowledge of industrial distribution and manufacturing environments, ideally including fasteners, applications, materials, and coatings.
  • Demonstrate the leadership potential to mentor, motivate, and develop sales professionals, including team members who are early in their field-sales careers.
  • Communicate effectively with customer stakeholders from plant and purchasing management through director and VP levels.
  • Use Excel and PowerPoint confidently for analysis, planning, customer reviews, and internal presentations.
  • Bring at least five years of industrial sales experience. A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Be comfortable balancing people leadership, direct customer engagement, strategic account ownership, and frequent regional travel.
  • Possess strong commercial judgment, presentation skills, and the ability to translate technical product knowledge into meaningful customer value.
  • Previous formal people management experience is valuable but is not required when paired with strong industrial expertise and demonstrated coaching or leadership potential.
