Processing Manager

Location: On-site, Allentown PA

A privately-owned, FDA-regulated manufacturer of nationally distributed personal-care products is expanding its Pennsylvania operations. To keep pace with rapid growth, the company is seeking a hands-on Processing Manager to own all compounding and batching activities for high-mix, high-volume production. This leader will blend strategic oversight with daily floor presence, driving the people, processes, and continuous-improvement initiatives that turn innovative formulas into shelf-ready products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a 24/5 compounding department, setting daily priorities and long-term strategy for safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
• Champion a culture of GMP discipline by owning SOPs, batch records, deviation investigations, and audit readiness.
• Coach, mentor, and formally develop a multi-shift crew of compounders, technicians, and leads.
• Troubleshoot complex batches on the floor, providing real-time technical guidance and facilitating rapid root-cause analysis.
• Partner with QA, Production, R&D, and Planning teams to support scale-ups, reformulations, tech transfers, and new-product introductions.
• Drive continuous-improvement projects that increase yield, shorten changeovers, and reduce material loss.
• Monitor batch KPI metrics (yield, cycle time, right-first-time, waste) and present performance updates to site leadership.

• Zero critical observations in external or internal GMP audits.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 7+ years of experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing (personal-care, food, beverage, pharma, or chemical).
• Demonstrated leadership of compounding, batching, or similar wet-processing operations.
• Expert knowledge of FDA and cGMP requirements, batch documentation, and deviation management.
• Track record of hands-on problem solving combined with strategic departmental planning.
• Skilled in Lean or Six Sigma tools; able to quantify and communicate improvement results.
• Comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced, multi-SKU environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish and contract-manufacturing experience are pluses.
