Our client, a well-established, fast-growing civil contractor with a 20-year record of delivering municipal treatment-plant upgrades, has recently secured more than $45 million in new awards. They are adding an experienced Wastewater Project Manager to lead a $13 million rehabilitation and expansion of an active wastewater treatment facility while driving future projects across the region. What You’ll Do
- Own the full project lifecycle - from preconstruction planning through commissioning and close-out - for complex water and wastewater treatment-plant work.
- Coordinate self-perform crews and specialty subcontractors, sequencing heavily phased work inside operating facilities.
- Prepare, track, and update CPM schedules in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, ensuring milestones, crew loading, and procurement stay on course.
- Manage cost controls, forecasting, and monthly owner billings; identify value-engineering opportunities and share realized savings with the team.
- Serve as primary liaison with owners, engineers, and regulatory agencies, translating technical issues into clear action plans.
- Champion job-site safety and quality, conduct regular audits, and foster a zero-incident culture.
- Mentor a lean project team - including a Project Engineer and Superintendent - while collaborating closely with executive leadership.
What Sets You Up for Success
- 5 + years of project-management experience on water or wastewater treatment-plant construction, with hands-on involvement in self-perform piping, concrete, and mechanical scopes.
- Proven record executing projects in active plants, coordinating shutdowns, and maintaining process flow.
- Working knowledge of Procore (or similar), Primavera P6/MS Project, and the full Microsoft Office suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong communication skills to interface with municipal owners and consulting engineers.
- Ability to travel 1–2 days per week to the job site (90 minutes from Phoenix) as the project demands.
