Senior Project Manager – Data Center Construction

A nationally recognized leader in design-build and mission critical infrastructure is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Data Center Construction to oversee multi-million-dollar data center builds across the country. This role is central to delivering some of the most complex, large-scale construction projects in the nation - supporting innovation, connectivity, and digital transformation. About the Role:


This leader will manage complex construction projects and teams from inception through completion, particularly within the data center and hyperscale market. They will collaborate with design, estimating, procurement, and field operations teams to ensure scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety goals are achieved. This is a pivotal role where you’ll be the driver of technical and commercial success across critical projects, while serving as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external clients.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the planning and execution of large-scale mission critical construction projects, including coordination of multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
  • Partner with preconstruction teams to develop bids, project scopes, estimates, and schedules for RFP responses.
  • Evaluate design documents and proactively contribute constructability reviews and risk mitigation plans.
  • Manage full project lifecycle including budgets, schedules, procurement, permitting, contract negotiations, and close-out.
  • Supervise project schedules, direct site meetings, and proactively resolve project-related challenges.
  • Ensure comprehensive cost control through detailed tracking, variance reporting, and forecasting.
  • Maintain oversight of subcontractor performance, change orders, and vendor agreements.
  • Drive client satisfaction through consistent communication, milestone updates, and project transparency.
  • Collaborate closely with field personnel to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Mentor and train junior team members, promoting development and strong team culture.



Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects, with at least 3 years focused on data center builds or mission critical infrastructure.
  • Proven expertise in schedule development, cost control, contract administration, and field operations.
  • Deep understanding of data center construction, including cooling, electrical, and telecom infrastructure.
  • Adept in client-facing responsibilities, reporting, and project communication.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel for project oversight.


Preferred Experience:


  • Experience leading design-build and fast-track construction delivery models.
  • Familiarity with permitting, inspections, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of building codes, data center industry trends, and sustainable construction methods.
