Product Design Engineer

Focus:

• Produce detailed engineering drawings, customer submittals, 3D models, and supporting technical documents using AutoCAD and other design tools.
• Contribute to the development of new products while refining existing designs to improve functionality, manufacturability, and performance.
• Partner with production and fabrication personnel to resolve design challenges and support efficient manufacturing processes.
• Develop customized mechanical designs that accommodate specialized components, electronic devices, and emerging technologies.
• Evaluate design alternatives and component sourcing options to address manufacturing requirements and supply chain changes.
• Collaborate with engineering colleagues, project stakeholders, and technical partners to translate application requirements into practical solutions.
• Assist with product evaluations, technical troubleshooting, and design improvements that support quality and reliability.
• Manage multiple design assignments with independence, sound judgment, and attention to engineering accuracy.

Skill Set:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and practical experience with 3D modeling software.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate engineering drawings, submittal packages, and technical documentation.
• Relevant experience in engineering design, product development, design modifications, or manufacturing support.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting abilities, and a practical approach to solving technical challenges.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and project teams.
• Self-directed, organized, and disciplined work style, with an eagerness to learn unfamiliar products, technologies, and software.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD platforms is preferred. Candidates with transferable modeling skills are encouraged to apply.
• Background in mechanical design, fabricated products, architectural products, or lighting-related applications is beneficial but not required. Relevant technical experience may substitute for a formal engineering degree.
