Vision Engineer
Location: Greater Toronto Area, ON (50% travel to client sites)

Do you thrive at the intersection of mechanical design, electronics, and intelligent control systems? A high-growth engineering venture within advanced robotics is looking for a Vision Engineer to lead the hands‑on creation of next-generation autonomous systems. You'll unite the dots between physical components, embedded code, and overall system architecture to transform proof-of-concepts into scalable, production-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead engineering initiatives from conceptual design through development, testing, and deployment to delivery.
- Design and implement automated systems that combine electronic and mechanical components, including control devices, motion sensors, and programmable logic controllers.
- Generate CAD models, electrical schematics, and supporting documentation to align with design and compliance requirements.
- Conduct rigorous testing, validation, and debugging of systems to ensure reliability and safety in deployment.
- Foster collaboration and alignment across multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
- Create and manage project plans with clear timelines, risk mitigation strategies, and budget considerations.
- Help evolve and refine internal processes and standards.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–7 years of experience executing hands-on engineering projects involving robotics, automation, or electro-mechanical systems.
- Deep technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical subsystems, including motion control, sensor integration, and control systems.
- Proven experience with CAD tools, electrical design software, and prototyping platforms.
- Adept at navigating and aligning different disciplines and perspectives.
- Thorough approach to record-keeping and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Be ready to hit the road (within the US) when projects need you to.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in startups, OEMs, or industrial automation companies delivering production-ready systems.
- Proven track record of scaling prototypes to full production or spearheading intricate system integration initiatives.
- Understanding of functional safety standards and regulated development frameworks.
