Electronic Security Field Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, and activate electronic door hardware, control systems, sensors, and IP CCTV solutions, ensuring compliance with design specs and industry standards.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and rapid corrective repairs to minimize client downtime.
  • Interpret and update single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and system documentation.
  • Develop material take-offs, labor estimates, and change-order recommendations based on field observations.
  • Produce clear daily service reports and project close-out packages, capturing all checklists, receipts, and customer approvals.
  • Coordinate closely with site security, IT, and subcontractor teams to execute work safely and with minimal operational disruption.
  • Plan travel logistics, manage expenses on a company card, and represent the brand with professionalism at every job site.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years installing, configuring, and servicing low-voltage electronic security systems (ACS, IDS, CCTV) and associated IP networks.
  • Strong proficiency with system programming/troubleshooting utilities and Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools.
  • Working knowledge of door hardware (strikes, mag-locks), cable terminations, and network standards.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple assignments while maintaining timely, proactive communication with customers and teammates.
  • Valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, ability to pass federal background investigation and drug screening, and unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Extras

  • State or local electrician’s license or related certifications.
  • Heavy-equipment operation (forklift, boom lift) and/or welding experience.
  • IT or networking credentials (CompTIA, Cisco, etc.).

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in varying weather, and travel nationwide Monday–Friday (most weeks).
  • Stand, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
