Our client is seeking a Controller to step into a high-visibility role at the center of an evolving manufacturing finance organization. The right person will bring strong cost accounting depth, a practical communication style, and the ability to influence change in a fast-moving environment where their work will be seen and valued.

Why Candidates Are Excited About This Role

This is an ideal opportunity for a manufacturing finance professional who wants to do more than maintain the status quo. The role offers the chance to influence plant performance, improve core finance processes, and help build a stronger operating foundation across a growing organization. Candidates who enjoy partnering with the business, solving practical problems, and creating structure in dynamic environments should find this especially compelling.

This Role Offers

  • Competitive base salary plus bonus potential
  • Remote flexibility with purposeful travel to support plant partnership and operational visibility
  • Strong exposure to finance leadership and cross-functional decision-makers
  • A chance to help modernize systems, improve reporting, and strengthen controls across a multi-site manufacturing environment
  • Broad scope and meaningful impact in a role designed for a builder, not just a maintainer

Focus

  • Lead monthly close and site-level financial review activities across multiple manufacturing locations
  • Partner with plant and operations leaders to improve profitability, clarify performance drivers, and support better business decisions
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial planning efforts in partnership with finance and operations stakeholders
  • Strengthen standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory control practices across a multi-site environment
  • Help drive more consistent processes, stronger controls, and clearer reporting across locations
  • Partner with shared services and finance leadership to improve close quality, issue resolution, and reporting accuracy
  • Contribute to capital spending analysis, cost modeling, and other financial studies that support operational performance
  • Serve as a collaborative finance resource during audits and other compliance-related activities

Skill Set

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Approximately 5 years or more of progressive accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong background in manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing and variance analysis
  • Experience supporting multiple locations, business units, or plant operations
  • Ability to work effectively in a changing environment with evolving processes and priorities
  • Comfort partnering across finance, operations, and shared services without direct authority
  • Strong Excel and general ERP proficiency, experience with modern cloud-based systems is helpful
  • CPA or similar credential is a plus

Travel

This role includes travel, with heavier travel expected during onboarding and early relationship-building. Longer term, travel is expected to be moderate and purposeful rather than constant.
