  • Significant ownership of a commercial service operation, including financial performance, team development, customer growth, and operational execution.
  • Access to broader resources supporting recruiting, safety, training, financial visibility, and employee development.
  • Ability to build on an established commercial mechanical foundation while introducing new ideas for maintenance growth, recurring revenue, and operational improvement.

Focus

  • Lead the commercial service operation, aligning technicians, dispatch, customer communication, and support functions around clear performance expectations.
  • Coach and develop field and service personnel while strengthening accountability, retention, recruiting, and future leadership capability.
  • Evaluate workflows and implement practical improvements that increase productivity, service quality, safety, and operational consistency.
  • Build and execute a growth strategy centered on commercial customer relationships, maintenance programs, recurring revenue, and profitable account expansion.
  • Guide estimating, pricing, proposals, negotiations, and service sales while maintaining disciplined attention to customer value and margin.
  • Apply experience across service and construction environments to improve coordination of people and resources as the organization grows.
  • Own service financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, revenue, gross margin, labor efficiency, and corrective action.
  • Monitor key operating measures, including utilization, billable efficiency, callbacks, technician productivity, customer retention, and profitability.
  • Partner with senior leadership to establish service goals, investment priorities, and a scalable roadmap for long-term growth.

Skill Set

  • 8 or more years of commercial HVAC/R, mechanical service, or closely related commercial mechanical experience.
  • 5 or more years of service leadership or management experience, ideally within commercial mechanical contracting.
  • Proven success building and developing service teams, growing customer relationships and revenue, and improving profitability.
  • Strong command of service P&L management, budgets, margins, pricing, forecasting, and operational KPIs.
  • Strong commercial mechanical background, with experience spanning both service and new construction or retrofit work preferred.
  • Ability to earn credibility with field technicians while creating a culture of coaching, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience growing maintenance agreements, recurring service programs, commercial accounts, or similar service revenue channels.
