Business Development Manager (Remote, USA)

A nationwide aerospace parts distributor is on the lookout for a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to expand their footprint across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets. This role is ideal for a personable sales professional who thrives in high-autonomy environments and wants to make a direct impact by building and nurturing long-term client partnerships. Candidates with a flexible mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for cultivating client relationships will feel right at home.

About the Role

The Business Development Manager will own key customer relationships and proactively pursue new business within a defined territory. With autonomy over how you manage your time and travel, you'll engage with existing clients and identify new opportunities through thoughtful, value-added outreach. This is not a transactional sales environment—success here means building genuine trust and understanding your customers’ evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate strong, consultative relationships with clients across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
  • Manage the full business development lifecycle—from prospecting to proposal to ongoing account management.
  • Promote aerospace parts and solutions by tailoring value propositions to each customer’s operations.
  • Maintain regular communication via phone, email, and video conferencing, with monthly travel for in-person relationship-building.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure client expectations are met with high attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Participate in periodic onsite trainings and team collaboration sessions.

Required Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in customer-facing roles, preferably within industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or aerospace sectors.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a strong ability to earn trust and build rapport.
  • Positive demeanor, high emotional intelligence, and consultative sales approach.
  • Strong organizational skills with an entrepreneurial drive to work independently in a remote-first environment.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately one week per month).
  • Valid driver’s license and comfort with business travel logistics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace or industrial distribution industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general business systems.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in non-structured, high-growth environments.
  • Experience working without a CRM or in minimally structured sales systems.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with annual bonus potential, based on individual and company success.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match and profit-sharing.
  • Generous paid time off and company holidays.
  • Paid travel for client visits, training, and team collaboration.
