HVAC Service Technician

Our client is an established residential home services organization looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join its growing Chicago-area team. This is an opportunity for a skilled technician who enjoys solving challenging comfort-system problems, working directly with homeowners, and taking pride in quality craftsmanship. Focus:

  • Troubleshoot heating and cooling equipment, including forced-air systems and boilers, and determine the right repair path.
  • Complete repairs and preventive service with attention to safety, workmanship, and long-term system performance.
  • Explain findings and service options clearly so homeowners can make informed decisions about their comfort systems.
  • Use sound judgment and structured problem-solving to isolate mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues.
  • Document service activity accurately using mobile or tablet-based field tools.
  • Maintain an organized service vehicle and arrive prepared with the tools and materials needed for the day's calls.
  • Partner with dispatch, technical resources, and fellow technicians to deliver a consistent customer experience.


Skill Set:

  • Hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential HVAC equipment, including forced-air systems and boilers.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and the critical-thinking skills to work through complex HVAC problems.
  • Customer-first communication skills, with the ability to build trust, explain technical information, and create a positive in-home experience.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with teammates and support staff.
  • Commitment to safe work practices, quality repairs, and professional service.
  • Comfort using digital tools for work orders, notes, and service documentation.
  • Interest in ongoing technical development and expanding expertise across a range of residential heating and cooling systems.
