Field Electrician
Fuel critical infrastructure projects across the country while growing your electrical career with a fast-scaling specialty contractor. Our client integrates high-security vehicle-access systems, smart surveillance, and custom power solutions for government, defense, and Fortune-listed customers. As part of a tight-knit field team you will travel to project sites coast-to-coast, own the full electrical scope - from rough-in to final test - and see the direct impact of your craftsmanship in environments where uptime is non-negotiable.
Why Join?
- Pay that grows with you: competitive per hour wage + time-and-a-half OT, paid weekly.
- All expenses covered: Company credit card, flight/hotel booking, and a fixed daily per diem - no out-of-pocket travel costs.
- Medical, dental, vision, and a dollar-for-dollar 401(k) match up to 4%; paid holidays, PTO, and sick leave.
- Service vehicle, specialty tooling, and tablet-based reporting software supplied.
- Formal skills training on high-security barrier systems plus a clear path to Lead Electrician, Foreman, or Site Superintendent as the team expands.
What You’ll Do
- Commission complex sites. Install, terminate, and verify distribution panels, disconnects, rigid/EMT conduit, and control wiring for vehicle-barrier, CCTV, and access-control equipment.
- Be the on-site SME. Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and low-voltage systems in challenging, “no-blueprint” situations; keep operations running with minimal downtime.
- Read the plan, run the plan. Interpret single-line diagrams and schematics to deliver code-compliant installs that satisfy AHJ and customer standards.
- Own safety & documentation. Generate daily field reports, photo logs, and customer sign-offs; maintain your service vehicle, tooling, and PPE in mission-ready condition.
- Collaborate & communicate. Coordinate with superintendents, project managers, and client reps, ensuring work is sequenced safely around active traffic or security operations.
Required Qualifications
- 3-7 years as an industrial or commercial electrician; confident bending and installing conduit, working with circuits to 480 VAC, and troubleshooting varied control schemes.
- Comfortable flying or driving to sites for 2-3 week stretches - roughly 85 percent of the time - and working 50-70 hours per week with generous overtime.
- Demonstrated success finding root causes across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems in the field.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain base-access clearances (background check & drug screen). OSHA-10, PLC/VFD familiarity, or state journeyman card are bonuses.
