Director, Federal Growth and Capture, Air Force Markets

Remote in Washington, DC and Boston, MA


A well-established defense focused organization is investing in its next phase of growth across Air Force aligned programs and is seeking a senior leader to help drive that expansion. This is a high impact opportunity for a business development professional who knows how to identify the right pursuits, build trusted relationships, and help turn market access into funded work. The role offers strong visibility, meaningful influence on growth strategy, and the chance to help shape pursuit decisions that support important national security missions.


This Role Offers

Focus

  • Lead growth activity across an Air Force focused federal portfolio, including pipeline development, pursuit shaping, partner engagement, and capture support.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with prime contractors, acquisition stakeholders, and government contacts aligned to the Air Force market.
  • Support opportunity advancement from early market positioning through proposal planning, submission coordination, and transition to delivery teams.
  • Work closely with technical, program, and executive leaders to align solutions with customer priorities and mission needs.
  • Provide insight to leadership on teaming strategy, competitive positioning, pursuit selection, and investment decisions.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified federal opportunities, including large scale pursuits that require disciplined capture planning.


Skill Set

  • 8 or more years of federal business development, capture, or acquisition experience, including at least 4 years supporting U.S. Air Force or Department of the Air Force customers.
  • Demonstrated success contributing to federal wins, including at least one prime contract or task order valued at 25 million dollars or more.
  • Strong working relationships across major defense contractors and government organizations supporting the Air Force market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, National Security Studies, or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, AFFARS, and Air Force acquisition procedures.
  • Eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance. Active TS SCI preferred.
