Project Manager – General Contractor
Location: Longwood, FL, On-site
A growing commercial construction organization is seeking an experienced Project Manager who knows how to drive a job from the earliest planning conversations through successful turnover. This is an opportunity for a construction professional who combines meaningful field experience with strong financial and project management capabilities. The right person will have the autonomy to own projects, collaborate closely with field leadership, and make an impact on how work is planned, coordinated, and delivered.
This Role Offers
- The opportunity to influence projects early, including estimating, budgeting, constructability, and procurement.
- Direct partnership with field teams and company leadership in an environment where practical construction knowledge is valued.
- A role suited for a builder-minded Project Manager who wants to drive results rather than simply administer project documentation.
Focus
- Own commercial building projects from early pricing and planning through turnover and final closeout.
- Partner with estimating teams to shape budgets, evaluate constructability, and identify practical value opportunities.
- Lead trade partner selection, scope alignment, purchasing, and subcontract execution.
- Build and manage project schedules, coordinating field activities and key decision points to keep work moving.
- Maintain clear visibility into budgets, committed costs, forecasts, billings, and overall project financial performance.
- Direct RFIs, submittals, change management, pay applications, and other core project controls.
- Work side by side with field leadership, trade partners, design teams, vendors, owners, and internal stakeholders.
- Use field knowledge to anticipate sequencing, constructability, coordination, and execution challenges before they affect the job.
- Interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and subcontract requirements to support sound project decisions.
- Take ownership of project outcomes, balancing safety, schedule, quality, cost, and client expectations.
Skill Set
- 5 to 10 years of commercial construction experience with a general contractor or comparable project environment.
- Substantial field exposure and the ability to connect jobsite realities with office planning and project controls.
- Demonstrated responsibility for commercial projects across estimating, preconstruction, execution, turnover, and closeout.
- Strong command of construction methods, sequencing, coordination, contracts, subcontracts, and cost control.
- Working proficiency with construction management platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
- Organized, proactive communication style with the judgment to manage competing priorities and solve problems early.
