A leading regional network services provider is searching for a skilled and service-oriented Field Network Engineer to support mission-critical connectivity for its growing commercial customer base. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability of internet, voice, wireless, and security services across business clients. Key Responsibilities:
- Dispatch directly from home to commercial client sites to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, VoIP, and networking issues.
- Address 2–3 daily support tickets related to fiber optics, wireless radios, and customer hardware, using a company-provided service vehicle fully equipped with necessary tools.
- Collaborate with senior network engineers on escalations and handle weekend on-call support for outages as needed.
- Perform installations, repairs, and testing across a range of technologies, including fiber splicing, VoIP systems, security cameras, and access control hardware.
- Program and configure network devices and firewalls from various manufacturers such as Ubiquiti, Cisco, and others.
- Document support efforts and customer outcomes within internal ticketing systems and provide basic end-user training during site visits.
- Ensure safety and compliance standards while performing physical tasks, including use of ladders and work on rooftops when needed.
Technical Requirements:
- 3–7 years of hands-on experience in a network or field service role within an ISP, telecom, or MSP environment.
- Strong understanding of network protocols and configuration: VPN, VLANs, IP addressing/subnetting, DNS, STP.
- Experience working with Ubiquiti radios and other wireless platforms.
- Proficiency in fiber and copper-based installations, including splicing and structured cabling.
- Familiarity with VoIP telephony systems and network-connected security infrastructure (cameras, access control, paging).
- Skilled with DC power concepts, including voltage testing and polarity checks.
- Comfortable troubleshooting across a wide range of equipment and network configurations.
