Data Center Architect – HPC/Hyperscaler

Location: Dallas, TX (On-Site)

A global technology leader is driving next-gen innovation in high-performance computing (HPC) and hyperscale infrastructure - and they’re looking for a Data Center Architect to join their elite engineering team. This is a pivotal role within a transformative tech initiative where your expertise will shape the future of data center performance, scalability, and resilience.

We’re looking for a candidate with deep architectural vision, cross-functional leadership, and a hands-on approach to data center design and operations. This person will work closely with senior IT leaders, facilities teams, and vendor partners to design and optimize mission-critical infrastructure that supports advanced computational workloads.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and document physical and logical layouts of data centers, including servers, networking equipment, power, and cooling.
• Architect systems that scale to meet enterprise-level compute, storage, and network requirements for HPC/hyperscale environments.
• Forecast future resource needs and develop proactive strategies for expansion and optimization.
• Enhance operational performance by reducing power consumption, improving cooling efficiency, and boosting throughput.
• Lead implementation of robust physical and digital security protocols for data center infrastructure.
• Manage end-to-end execution of infrastructure buildouts—scope, schedule, budget, and vendor coordination.
• Collaborate with technology partners for procurement, installation, and lifecycle maintenance.
• Provide strategic guidance and mentorship across IT teams, promoting data center best practices.
• Partner with technical leaders and executives to ensure alignment on requirements and design priorities.
• Stay ahead of emerging data center trends, sustainability practices, and next-gen technologies.
• Lead initiatives around automation, virtualization, and system modernization.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of enterprise-level experience designing and managing large-scale data center environments.
• In-depth knowledge of compute, networking, and storage systems, as well as supporting infrastructure (power and cooling).
• Proven experience designing and delivering greenfield data center builds, with deep hands-on proficiency in modern, Arista-based network architectures.
• Familiarity with Python and Ansible is a plus, though not a mandatory requirement.
• Demonstrated success in architecting scalable, resilient, and secure data center solutions.
• Strong project management abilities with a track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Technical certifications in data center architecture, cloud, or infrastructure technologies are a plus.
