Compensation: Competitive base plus 10 % performance bonus and comprehensive benefits
Our client is a fast-growing manufacturer that remanufactures complex mechanical systems for the mobility market, combining sustainability with advanced automation. The Phoenix plant is the company’s flagship operation and is receiving significant investment in new capital equipment and continuous-improvement initiatives. As Operations Manager, you will be the on-site champion for people, process, and performance—steering a 90-person workforce toward higher throughput, sharper quality, and a world-class safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire on-site operation—production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and engineering—ensuring daily targets are hit for safety, output, and OEE.
- Own plant-level KPIs (cost, delivery, inventory, first-pass yield) and report progress to executive leadership with data-driven recommendations.
- Drive lean transformation by deploying kaizen events, 5S, and value-stream mapping that reduce waste and free capacity for growth.
- Mentor front-line leaders; build succession pipelines and foster an approachable, high-accountability culture aligned with corporate values.
- Optimize production planning—balancing labor, machine capacity, and material flow to meet customer demand with minimal downtime.
- Safeguard people and the environment by enforcing rigorous EHS, OSHA, and environmental-compliance standards.
- Partner with Supply Chain & Finance to manage the site budget, negotiate vendor terms, and hit cost-reduction goals without compromising quality.
- Champion continuous improvement projects that have already delivered double-digit gains in similar environments—targeting a further 15 % boost in OEE within 12 months.
Qualifications
- 5 + years leading operations or plant functions in a medium-to-large manufacturing environment; remanufacturing, heavy industrial, or high-mix mechanical assembly preferred.
- Demonstrated success implementing lean / Six Sigma tools and hitting aggressive KPI targets.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams of 75 + employees and multiple department heads.
- Proficiency with modern ERP/MRP systems and data-analytics dashboards.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or relevant discipline (or equivalent proven experience).
- Hands-on leadership style—comfortable spending significant time on the production floor.
What’s in It for You
- High-impact role: Direct line of sight to executive leadership; authority to shape plant strategy and capital spending.
- Growth runway: The company’s aggressive expansion plan creates fast-track promotion potential for proven leaders.
- People-first culture: Collaborative environment that prizes approachability, continuous learning, and recognition.
