As Enterprise Imaging Systems Director, you will own the performance and evolution of every picture-archiving and communication touchpoint—keeping critical images flowing smoothly while shaping the future of AI-ready diagnostics. If you thrive at the intersection of clinical quality, enterprise IT, and hands-on leadership, this is your chance to make a measurable impact on patient care at scale.

Why You Should Explore This Role

  • Mission-Driven Impact – Improve diagnostic turnaround times and clinical confidence for hundreds of thousands of patients each year.
  • High-Visibility Leadership – Partner directly with senior IT and clinical executives to guide multimillion-dollar initiatives.
  • Green-Field Innovation – Lead cloud migrations, AI-assisted workflows, and advanced analytics projects from the ground up.
  • Accelerated Growth – The organization is adding sites nationwide, giving you a front-row seat to enterprise expansion and career advancement.
  • Comprehensive Rewards – Competitive base, performance bonus, long-term incentives, robust benefits, and generous PTO.

Key Impact Objectives (First 12 Months)

  • Deliver > 99.9 percent PACS availability across on-site and remote reading environments.
  • Reduce image-related incident volume by at least 25 percent through proactive monitoring and root-cause elimination.
  • Standardize PACS architecture and governance for all locations, laying the foundation for seamless cloud adoption.
  • Launch an enterprise image-exchange program that cuts external study turnaround times by 30 percent.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing PACS and imaging-informatics team with a culture of continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

  • Define and execute the long-term strategy for PACS, RIS integrations, DICOM routing, and AI-enabled tools, keeping pace with organizational growth and clinical quality goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day administration of imaging infrastructure, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and rapid issue resolution.
  • Lead change-control, release management, and vendor coordination for major upgrades, consolidation projects, and cloud migrations.
  • Partner with radiologists, technologists, and operations leaders to translate workflow pain points into scalable, secure solutions.
  • Establish and track KPIs covering uptime, incident response, user satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage operating and capital budgets, negotiate contracts, and hold vendors accountable to SLAs and roadmaps.
  • Champion a learning-centric environment, providing coaching, succession planning, and professional development for team members.
  • Collaborate with Information Security to safeguard imaging data and maintain readiness for HIPAA, FDA, ACR, and other audits.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or related field, Master’s preferred.
  • Seven or more years in healthcare IT with at least five years leading multi-site PACS or imaging-informatics programs.
  • Deep expertise in PACS architecture, radiology workflows, DICOM, HL7, and interoperability standards.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more enterprise PACS platforms (Sectra, GE, Intelerad, Merge, Mach7, Change Healthcare, Epic Radiant, or similar).
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled imaging applications, cloud-native archiving, and disaster-recovery best practices.
  • Proven record of guiding large-scale implementations, vendor negotiations, and change-management initiatives.
  • Executive-level communication skills and the ability to translate clinical requirements into scalable technical roadmaps.
  • Strategic mindset balanced by a sleeves-rolled-up approach to operational leadership.
