Senior Director, Strategic Deal Operations
Location: Hybrid – candidates must reside in major cities across Massachusetts, California, Georgia, Washington, Colorado, Virginia, NY, & Arizona.
A high-growth tech disruptor is looking for a results-driven executive to lead worldwide commercial support operations, establish pricing controls, and optimize the end-to-end order and revenue process. In this highly visible role, you will lead global teams focused on accelerating revenue velocity, enhancing customer experience, and enabling scalable processes through system optimization and cross-functional alignment. This executive hire will be instrumental in building the bridge between sales, legal, finance, and customer success — ensuring all deals are structured, reviewed, and executed with speed, accuracy, and commercial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Direct International Transaction Support Initiatives
- Guide the proposal development and commercial support groups overseeing the design, evaluation, and execution of worldwide sales contracts. Ensure quotes are aligned with company policy, pricing models, and revenue standards. Monitor turnaround times and drive quote accuracy and operational rigor across all geographies.
Oversee and Optimize the End-to-End Revenue Process
- Own the strategy and execution of core operational metrics such as quote SLAs, approval cycle durations, and overall data quality across customer-facing systems. Drive programs focused on streamlining workflows, enhancing visibility, and minimizing obstacles throughout the sales cycle.
Enhance Commercial Structuring and Deal Quality
- Collaborate across legal, finance, and sales leadership to develop standards and direction around contractual and pricing frameworks. Ensure contracts and agreements align with financial objectives and risk tolerances, and improve execution speed while preserving customer satisfaction.
Accelerate System Optimization
- Collaborate with IT and business systems leaders to enhance process flows using automation, intelligent workflows, and scalable platforms such as CPQ or billing technologies. Serve as a key stakeholder for roadmap planning, implementation, and change management.
Deliver Executive-Level Reporting
- Provide visibility into deal cycles, pipeline velocity, quote throughput, and governance trends through dashboards and insights. Enable informed decision-making at the senior leadership level.
Build and Lead High-Performing Teams
- Oversee and mentor a global organization of 40+ professionals across deal desk and quoting functions. Promote a team-oriented atmosphere grounded in responsibility and a commitment to continual refinement of processes.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial operations, revenue operations, deal desk, or quote-to-cash leadership roles
- Expertise in SaaS, hardware, or hybrid revenue models and familiarity with enterprise deal cycles
- Strong business partnership acumen, especially with global sales, finance, and legal stakeholders
- Deep experience with quoting platforms and CPQ tools (e.g., Salesforce CPQ, Apttus, etc.)
- Demonstrated success deploying automated solutions and expanding operational infrastructure within a multinational organization
- Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence across levels
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA a plus
Preferred Experience
- Experience working within publicly traded organizations or rapidly expanding technology companies
- Familiarity with government, channel, or distributor deal frameworks
- Exposure to revenue recognition and pricing governance best practices
- History of driving faster revenue cycles and enhancing organizational performance through technology-driven modernization
