Service Technician

Location: On-site, Columbus, OH

Schedule: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday; minimal overtime with occasional urgent rental prep

As a Service Technician you will become a resident expert on life-saving equipment, performing detailed inspections, calibrations, and repairs that ensure customers’ gear is always ready for action. You will work in a climate-controlled service shop with a friendly team, steady weekday schedule, and extensive OEM training.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform bench diagnostics, calibration, and repair for portable and fixed gas-detection monitors
• Service and functional-test self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and related air-supply packs in line with manufacturer standards
• Inspect and maintain emergency eyewash stations, showers, fall-arrest gear, and other plant-safety systems
• Create and close digital work orders in SAP, ensuring accurate parts, labor, and billing details
• Process rental equipment end-to-end, including intake, quick calibration, packaging, shipping, and EasyRent system updates
• Prepare clear repair or rental quotations and discuss options with repeat customers by phone
• Maintain a spotless, safety-first work area and complete additional service tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of hands-on experience servicing instrumentation, calibration gear, or similar electromechanical products
• Ability to obtain and maintain multiple OEM repair certifications (training provided)
• Comfortable toggling between diverse product lines without sacrificing quality
• Working knowledge of basic computer workflows to document jobs and process rentals
• Strong commitment to personal and team safety
