Sr Electrical Engineer – Data Center

Location: Shreveport, LA (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt


A rapidly growing leader in modular infrastructure is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer to spearhead electrical systems design for mission-critical facilities in sectors including data centers, telecom, fiber, and utility. This role is instrumental in delivering high-reliability solutions, integrating power systems and safety-critical controls. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and field teams to execute projects from concept through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle design and implementation of electrical systems for modular data center and telecom solutions.
  • Shape the technical landscape of power systems, ensuring robust and reliable infrastructure through expert engineering leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including sales, engineering, and client stakeholders, to tailor electrical solutions.
  • Conduct detailed power system studies, including load analysis, voltage drop, and fault current assessments.
  • Oversee the creation and validation of technical documentation, including detailed drawings and specifications, to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Ensure adherence to national and international standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, UL, IEEE).
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on design standards and engineering practices.
  • Provide critical support to production teams, collaborating with sourcing, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Investigate system failures to identify root causes and drive design enhancements, implementing corrective actions to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Engage with external partners and authorities to represent technical interests.

 

Qualifications

  • A degree (undergraduate or graduate) in electrical engineering or a related area is necessary.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical system design, preferably in modular or mission-critical infrastructure.
  • A solid understanding of safety standards and electrical codes is crucial.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, and system modeling tools.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Experience with PLCs, control panels, fire alarm systems, and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of eco-friendly design principles and energy-saving systems is a plus.
  • Superb skills in communicating effectively, resolving issues, and leading teams are necessary.

 

Work Environment & Travel

  • The job involves working on-site in a mix of office and light industrial settings.
  • Occasional travel to project sites for field coordination and commissioning.
  • Must be comfortable wearing PPE (safety glasses, hard hat, etc.).
  • You may be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
