Tier 2 VoIP Engineer

Location: Hybrid – Bedford, TX (4 days onsite, with 1 remote workday per week)

An emerging voice and broadband solutions provider is expanding its support engineering team and looking for a skilled Tier 2 VoIP Engineer. In this hybrid role based in the Bedford area, you’ll troubleshoot complex VoIP and network-related issues, assist in provisioning and deployment, and act as an escalation point for critical incidents. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Tier 2 escalation point for advanced VoIP support, focusing on diagnosing and resolving issues around SIP registration, call flow, and routing.
  • Support softswitch environments by managing users, dial plans, hunt groups, and custom call flows.
  • Assist frontline teams and customers with real-time troubleshooting of call quality and connectivity issues.
  • Configure and provision IP-based devices, including ATAs, IP phones, and session border controllers.
  • Analyze call traces and logs to diagnose VoIP performance concerns and network behavior.
  • Engage in porting coordination, account activation, and provisioning of new services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new clients.
  • Maintain documentation of configurations, known issues, and solutions to contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
  • Deliver high-touch support to customers through ticketing systems, phone, and remote sessions.


Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience supporting hosted VoIP or UCaaS environments.
  • Familiarity with SIP, RTP, TCP/IP, and NAT traversal, along with general networking concepts.
  • Prior experience supporting or administering platforms such as NetSapiens, Broadsoft, or similar hosted voice solutions is a strong plus.
  • Working knowledge of porting processes, device provisioning, and remote troubleshooting tools.
  • Ability to interpret packet captures and call logs for advanced diagnostics.
  • Experience with common helpdesk platforms such as Zendesk or similar ticketing systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
