Director of Liquid Cooling Operations

Location: Remote — based near a major U.S. airport

Travel Requirement: Up to 50% travel

Ignite What’s Next

We’re launching a new national operations division at an industry-forward engineering firm - one that’s redefining how high-performance cooling systems are deployed at scale. As the Director of Liquid Cooling Operations, you’ll steer fluid-based cooling initiatives for mission-critical facilities, leading systems deployment from planning through commissioning. Your expertise will help shape the standards and strategy behind next-gen infrastructure performance. If you thrive in dynamic environments, and are energized by building programs that move fast and scale even faster, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of liquid cooling programs from strategy to execution, ensuring alignment with goals and consistent excellence.
  • Act as the trusted liaison with clients - setting expectations, managing deliverables, and ensuring quality at every milestone.
  • Develop and standardize internal procedures, dashboards, and SOPs to support execution across regions.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with engineering, QA, commissioning, and vendor teams for integrated system delivery.
  • Identify performance risks, confirm system readiness, and guide swift resolution of issues.
  • Manage project metrics and margin targets - including financial tracking and reporting.
  • Coach site engineers and operations staff, nurturing the next generation of technical leaders.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in liquid cooling, especially within high-density applications such as data centers, semiconductor facilities, or similar environments.
  • Strong background in managing complex programs from conception through on-site delivery.
  • Familiarity with PCW, UPW, glycol loops, and standard PLC/SCADA systems.
  • Hands-on commissioning and troubleshooting with a data-driven mindset.
  • Comfortable with Excel, PowerPoint, and virtual collaboration tools; familiarity with control protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.) is a plus.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CxA, BCxP, NEBB, PMP, OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
  • Around 13+ years of experience in technical operations including ~8+ years in leadership roles
  • Comfortable with 50% travel to meet clients, sites, and internal teams

Why You’ll Want to Join:

  • Champion a high-impact, first-of-its-kind division in a category-defining firm
  • Remote-first with autonomy and flexibility - yet still deeply engaged in scaling real-world solutions
  • Competitive total rewards package, plus career mobility as the division grows
