Plant Operations Engineering Manager
Location: On site in Salem, NH
Our client is a well-established industrial manufacturer entering an important phase of operational growth and performance improvement. They are looking for a Plant Operations Engineering Manager who can elevate equipment reliability, strengthen plant processes, and help build a more efficient, scalable operation. Focus
- Lead plant engineering efforts that improve equipment uptime, process consistency, and overall manufacturing performance.
- Build and coach a technical team with a strong focus on safety, urgency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and quality leadership to identify production constraints and implement effective solutions.
- Guide capital, maintenance, and process improvement initiatives that increase throughput and reduce recurring issues.
- Translate technical requirements into practical work instructions, maintenance guidance, and sustainable operating practices.
- Use plant data, root cause analysis, and direct floor engagement to prioritize engineering work and support stable daily operations.
- Support equipment performance through preventive strategies, troubleshooting coordination, and external vendor engagement when needed.
- Standardize documentation, procedures, and training tools that help frontline teams adopt improved methods successfully.
- Help establish systems that support dependable equipment performance across controls, mechanical assets, and plant support infrastructure.
- Contribute to special projects and broader site priorities as directed by leadership.
Skill Set
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Around five years of engineering experience within a manufacturing setting.
- At least 5 years of leadership or people management experience.
- Strong background in process improvement, manufacturing support, and plant problem solving.
- Working knowledge of equipment systems such as controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and CNC related operations.
- Experience developing systems that improve equipment reliability, maintenance execution, and operational consistency.
- Demonstrated success working across production, engineering, and maintenance functions.
- Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and an organized approach to execution.
- Lean manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
- Automotive or similarly complex industrial manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
