Electrical Superintendent
Location: Remote, Nationwide Travel
Our client, a nationally recognized design build construction firm with projects spanning industrial, manufacturing, and mission critical environments, is seeking a traveling Electrical Superintendent to lead field execution for high impact builds across the United States. The Electrical Superintendent will serve as the on-site authority for all electrical field operations, ensuring seamless coordination between subcontractors, project management, engineering teams, and clients. Key Responsibilities
- Champion a culture of safety, ensuring all electrical work is executed in compliance with company standards, site specific plans, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and coordinate all electrical field activities including power distribution, lighting, controls, low voltage systems, and specialty electrical installations.
- Develop and manage site logistics plans specific to electrical trades, including manpower planning, material staging, equipment utilization, and sequencing.
- Build and maintain detailed short interval schedules, aligning electrical activities with the master project schedule to drive timely completion.
- Conduct regular coordination meetings with electrical subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and other trades to resolve conflicts and maintain workflow continuity.
- Monitor labor productivity, material usage, and equipment allocation to support strong cost control and project profitability.
- Collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams to address RFIs, field changes, inspections, and quality control processes.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and system startup activities, ensuring all electrical systems meet design intent and performance standards.
- Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation related to progress, safety, workforce counts, and schedule milestones.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma with at least 5 years of hands on electrical construction experience, or a 4 year degree in construction management, electrical engineering, or a related field in lieu of some field experience.
- Demonstrated experience supervising electrical crews or managing electrical subcontractors on commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC codes, electrical installation standards, and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and coordinated construction documents.
- Experience developing look ahead schedules and driving accountability among field teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide and temporarily relocate for project assignments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to build trust across diverse teams.
Physical and Work Environment
This role requires regular presence on active construction sites. The position involves standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed. Candidates must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and typical construction site environments.
