Metrology Instrumentation Technician
Location: Spring Hill, FL (Greater Tampa Bay Area)

Schedule: Mon – Fri 7:30am – 4:00pm
We are partnering with a precision manufacturing firm that produces highly regulated, tight‑tolerance electromechanical and medical‑grade components. This is a critical role - the person in this position will be the gatekeeper of measurement accuracy and calibration integrity that underpins the company’s commitment to quality and compliance. Core Responsibilities
Dimensional Inspection & Metrology
- Operate specialized equipment to check the accuracy and quality of various parts and components.
- Carry out checks to ensure parts meet required shapes and measurements.
- Prepare simple summaries of inspection outcomes and communicate them as needed.
- Assist in looking into issues that arise, working with others to find solutions.
Instrumentation Calibration Management
- Coordinate the scheduling of maintenance for essential devices.
- Carry out calibration, verification, and upkeep of gauges, micrometers, height tools, surface plates, and other measurement instruments.
- Maintain accurate records of calibration activities and certifications to ensure compliance and audit preparedness.
- Detect tools that no longer meet required tolerances and arrange for repair or replacement.
Quality Systems & Process Support
- Make sure all inspection and calibration work complies with internal quality guidelines as well as external standards.
- Take part in preparing or improving procedural guidelines for calibration, inspection, and measurement work.
- Participate in validation of new tools, fixtures, inspection equipment, or production processes as necessary.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Several years of experience working with measurement or inspection tasks in a technical environment.
- Experience working with measurement machines and common inspection tools.
- Strong familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Skilled in managing calibration tasks, documenting results, and supporting traceability requirements for precision tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to collaborate across production, engineering, and quality teams.
