MEP Commissioning PM

Location: On site in Lubbock, TX

An industry-leading firm operating under strict confidentiality is enhancing its support for advanced, uptime-sensitive infrastructure and is hiring a Commissioning Project Manager to drive mission-critical projects from initial energization through verification and client transition. This is a high impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of field execution, MEP coordination, vendor management, and owner communication. You will help bring complex infrastructure online with a strong focus on readiness, reliability, and successful handoff.

What You Will Do

  • Lead commissioning execution for large scale, mission critical construction projects from preconstruction planning through final turnover.
  • Build and manage commissioning roadmaps that align field progress, startup sequencing, testing windows, and owner milestones.
  • Coordinate trade partners, equipment vendors, design stakeholders, and client teams to keep system readiness on track.
  • Oversee energization readiness, functional testing support, issue tracking, and closeout activities across critical MEP scopes.
  • Oversee client-supplied equipment throughout the full lifecycle, including factory inspections, logistics coordination, on-site installation, commissioning, and final record completion.
  • Review MEP submittals, RFIs, procedures, and schedule logic to support constructability and operational performance.
  • Lead commissioning meetings, communicate schedule or performance risks early, and drive timely resolution of open items.
  • Support integrated systems testing efforts with third party specialists, field leadership, and client representatives.
  • Maintain organized project documentation including checklists, logs, test records, turnover packages, and record updates.
  • Guide engineers and field personnel on commissioning requirements, execution order, quality expectations, and maintaining strong safety ownership.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of 4 years managing projects within complex MEP systems or mission-critical construction environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a similar field, or comparable hands-on experience.
  • Working knowledge of commissioning workflows, startup readiness, turnover documentation, and performance validation for critical systems.
  • Experience coordinating owner furnished equipment, external vendors, and installation milestones.
  • Familiarity with project tools such as Procore, Primavera P6, or similar construction scheduling and documentation platforms.
  • Clear and confident communicator who works effectively with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, external partners, and stakeholders.
  • Professional judgment, follow through, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to help drive project outcomes.

Preferred Background

  • Exposure to data center, mission critical, or other highly technical building environments.
  • Background in coordinating integrated systems validation and executing formal commissioning methodologies throughout various stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PE, CxA, CEM, or related credentials are valued.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Opportunity to help deliver advanced, high visibility infrastructure with meaningful technical complexity.
  • Strong cross functional exposure with direct influence on commissioning outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Visible role in project turnover, operational readiness, and long-term facility performance.
