Jr Field Technician
Location: Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, TX (Outdoor Installations)
A rapidly expanding telecom and internet services company is seeking a hands-on Jr Field Technician to support network and equipment installations across the Dallas–Fort Worth region. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform outdoor cable installations including Cat5/6 Ethernet and coax, with occasional fiber prep.
- Safely access commercial rooftops using ladders (up to 32 ft) to mount and align wireless equipment like access points and antennas.
- Set up and transport equipment weighing up to 40 lbs, including mounts and network hardware.
- Assist senior technicians with installations, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance at client sites.
- Ensure tools, service vans, and installation gear are clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Follow all safety protocols and professionally interact with customers and teammates.
Skills & Experience:
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in structured cabling, field installations, or similar roles.
- Proficient with Ethernet cable termination; basic fiber or wireless knowledge is a plus.
- Comfortable working outdoors in a physically demanding environment involving ladders and rooftops.
- Exposure to wireless equipment such as Ubiquiti, Cambium, or equivalent technologies is preferred.
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts like IP addressing, WiFi, and switching.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
