Structural Engineer
Location: On-Site in Fayetteville AR
About the Opportunity
A forward-thinking building-technology company is scaling the way large commercial projects are framed, sheathed, and shipped by bringing cold-formed steel (CFS) panels off the jobsite and into a controlled, highly automated plant environment. As a key member of the engineering group, you will own the structural design of prefabricated wall, floor, and roof assemblies, transforming 3-D BIM concepts into clash-free, code-compliant components that roll straight from digital model to shop floor. Join a people-centric culture with strong growth momentum, competitive compensation, and the chance to see your designs rise on some of the region’s most prominent buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with construction leaders, design professionals, and structural experts early on to design buildings that are tailored for modular construction, reducing complexity and improving efficiency.
- Coordinate structural, MEP, and fire-protection models, delivering clash-free BIM files at LOD 400.
- Perform delegated design calculations and stampable drawings for CFS walls, joist, and truss systems that meet IBC, ASCE 7, and AISI standards.
- Generate detailed cut lists, roll-former data, and shop tickets directly from the model to streamline manufacturing.
- Produce final panel drawings showing sequencing, stacking, and bundling details to ensure damage-free shipping and rapid on-site installation.
- Audit first-run components, resolve discrepancies, and feed lessons learned back into design rules and machine files.
- Visit jobsites as needed to troubleshoot installation challenges and recommend continuous-improvement actions.
- Mentor junior designers and collaborate cross-functionally on process and automation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering; master’s a plus.
- Active or easily transferable PE license (Arkansas or neighboring state preferred).
- 3 + years designing structural framing systems for mid- to large-scale commercial projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency with BIM (Revit or similar) and cold-formed steel design principles.
- Working knowledge of U.S. building codes and material standards.
Preferred Extras
- Experience with StrucSoft MWF, Onyx, or other automated CFS design software.
- Exposure to off-site or industrialized construction workflows.
- Familiarity with logistics planning for panelized or modular building components.
Culture & Benefits
- High-growth environment that rewards innovation and continuous learning.
- Competitive base salary plus performance bonus.
- Employer-subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage, PTO, and 401(k) match.
- Clear advancement track toward Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager roles.
- Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
