Corporate Process Engineer (Thermoforming)

Work Model: Hybrid

Travel: 50% in support of plant operations and project work


Our client is a well-established manufacturer investing in operational excellence, production consistency, and future ready thermoforming capability across a multi-site network. This is a key corporate engineering position offering strong exposure, significant accountability, and the opportunity to influence how standards, capital initiatives, and operational performance evolve across multiple locations. The role offers a strong mix of technical problem solving, cross functional collaboration, and hands-on support for major improvement initiatives.

 

This Role Offers

  • Enterprise level visibility across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Opportunity to serve as a lead thermoforming resource within a growing engineering function.
  • Blend of process improvement, plant support, standardization, and project execution.
  • Exposure to equipment upgrades, operational improvements, and commercialization support.


Focus

  • Drive improvements in forming reliability for thin materials, with attention to output, defect reduction, material usage, and safe workflows.
  • Assist with equipment and investment-related efforts, including enhancements, implementation support, commissioning activities, testing, and operational ramp-up.
  • Define and advance standard methods for machine setup, changeovers, material transitions, troubleshooting, and maintaining stable operating performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance new initiatives and drive continuous operational enhancements.
  • Drive cost savings by improving processes, optimizing material usage, standardizing workflows, and enhancing equipment performance.
  • Leverage performance metrics and site input to guide improvement efforts and translate insights into tangible operational gains.
  • Support team development by sharing practical knowledge and promoting consistent practices across sites through effective communication and joint problem-solving.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and site leadership.


Skill Set

  • Requires a four-year degree in engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Min 5 years working with thermoforming processes in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong experience in thin gauge forming environments.
  • Experience with PET and polypropylene materials strongly preferred.
  • Background in process improvement, manufacturing optimization, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Background contributing to facility-level initiatives tied to equipment, process enhancements, or performance improvements.
  • Ability to influence teams across multiple sites without direct reporting authority.
  • Experience with tools such as Excel, SAP, Minitab, or similar systems is helpful.
  • Additional plastics processing exposure is a plus.
