Bookkeeper / Office Manager
Location: Greater Tampa Bay Area (On-Site)

A well-established and rapidly growing construction services firm in the Greater Tampa Bay region is seeking a Bookkeeper & Business Operations Administrator to manage day-to-day financials and assist with administrative processes vital to business operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounting using QuickBooks, including AP/AR, general ledger, payroll coordination, and monthly reconciliations.
- Oversee project-based accounting for construction jobs, including progress billing, retainage tracking, lien waivers, and compliance documentation.
- Process subcontractor payments, manage expense reporting, and reconcile company credit card transactions.
- Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to maintain job cost accuracy and ensure financial alignment with budgets.
- Generate timely financial statements and job cost reports to support project analysis, forecasting, and business decision-making.
- Assist with contracts, billing schedules, and change orders to align with project milestones and revenue recognition standards.
- Support compliance with industry regulations and assist in audit preparation, tax filing documentation, and reporting for bonding or insurance.
- Act as a central administrative hub for operational needs such as vendor management, basic HR recordkeeping, and general office oversight.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role within construction, contracting, or subcontractor-heavy environments.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and deep familiarity with job costing methods.
- Working knowledge of GAAP principles and construction-specific billing practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain strong attention to detail, and work cross-functionally across departments.
- Solid organizational skills and comfort with handling sensitive financial documentation.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in union and non-union payroll processing for field operations.
- Experience with AIA billing and contract compliance reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
