A leading precision plastics manufacturer is expanding its technical team and is seeking an experienced Injection Molding Technician to join operations in both Brookhaven, NY and Connecticut. This is a highly specialized environment where attention to detail, process consistency, and craftsmanship are paramount. The company supports a range of industries with exacting standards—think high-end packaging, luxury goods, and mission-critical components. They offer stability, a strong team culture, and hands-on engagement with advanced molding technology.

What’s in it for You:

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Stable Monday–Friday schedule on day shift.
  • Collaborative team culture rooted in craftsmanship and precision.
  • Visibility to leadership and involvement in meaningful projects.
  • Opportunity to work with high-end materials and advanced molding technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute full mold startups for both standard production and new tooling trials.
  • Set up and operate advanced injection molding equipment, including automation such as take-out robots and EOAT (end-of-arm tooling).
  • Lead material changes, colorant trials, and ensure processes are dialed in for quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot molding issues including flash, short shots, splay, burns, warp, and similar defects.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve production challenges and improve overall outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of mold setups, process changes, and cycle time data.
  • Contribute to scrap reduction, uptime optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prioritize production needs in a fast-paced, multi-line manufacturing environment.

Required Background:

  • 3+ years of hands-on injection molding processing experience (not just operating).
  • Independent capability in mold setup, changeovers, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in handling various thermoplastic materials and managing material transitions.
  • Familiarity with robotic handling systems, EOATs, and automated molding cells.
  • Comfortable reading job specs and understanding Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Basic math and computer literacy skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable collaborating cross-functionally.

Preferred Experience:

  • Exposure to multi-cavity or hot runner mold systems.
  • Background in high-volume, cosmetic, or tight-tolerance molding (e.g., packaging, medical, or consumer products).
  • Continuous improvement mindset and prior involvement in cycle time or scrap reduction projects.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-accountability environment, values hands-on work, and wants to be recognized for their molding expertise. If you're looking to take ownership of your process and be part of a team where your skills make a difference—this is the role for you.
